Welcome to The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa

The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) was founded and financed in 1954 by members of the medical profession and was registered as a non-profit making company in 1955. It is the custodian of the quality of medical care in South Africa and is unique in the world in that it embraces 28 constituent Colleges representing all the disciplines of medicine and dentistry. Because the CMSA has the unique structure of containing all medical and dental specialities within a single framework, it has the potential to foster aspects of medical education and medical professionalism which are common to all disciplines.

  • URGENT INFORMATION REGARDING FCS(SA) PRIMARY AND INTERMEDIATE EXAMINATIONS

    Posted: 2012/08/29 07:00:47 PM

    FCS(SA) PRIMARY EXAMINATION

It has been brought to the attention of the CMSA that the FCS(SA) Primary papers have been compromised and as a result the examination will no longer be written on Thursday and Friday, 30 and 31 August 2012. We apologise for this inconvenience but new papers must be set in order to ensure that candidates who had sight of the compromised papers are not advantaged over the majority of candidates who have not had sight thereof. These papers are now scheduled to be written on 9 and 10 October 2012. Candidates who are unable to write on these dates must please contact the Academic Registrar. Your understanding in this matter is greatly appreciated as the integrity of the CMSA examinations is of paramount importance and fairness for all candidates must be maintained at all costs.

    Yours sincerely

    Professor JLA Rantloane
Chairman : Examinations and Credentials Committee

    FCS(SA) INTERMEDIATE EXAMINATION

It has been brought to the attention of the CMSA that the FCS(SA) Intermediate March 2012 papers have been released into the public domain. We wish to assure candidates that the compromised questions will be excluded from the written examination so that no candidates who wrote the August 2012 papers are unfairly advantaged. The CMSA will also be performing a statistical analysis on all the papers to ensure fairness for all candidates who wrote.

    Yours sincerely

    Professor JLA Rantloane
Chairman : Examinations and Credentials Committee
