MELiSA
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to join MELiSA.
After having thoroughly reviewed the level of access to medical information throughout the world by our profession, I realised that most South African medical and dental professionals faced problems of cost, time and access in keeping up to date with the latest medical literature. I have sought to address this issue and have spent the last 2 years creating MELiSA, the Medical Electronic Library of South Africa, boasting over 1000 international journal titles, including the NEJM and Lancet, plus 100 book titles and access to MD ConsultTM and First ConsultTM, along with access to Cochrane abstracts. Our journal titles are linked to PubMed for literature searching and quick full text article retrieval.
As a CMSA member you are eligible to receive a month’s free trial period followed by an optional 12 month subscription period at a discounted rate of R1985 (excl. VAT). Your discounted rate is sponsored by Adcock Ingram and MELiSA and you will also be automatically entered into MELiSA’s end of year competition, the prize being a luxury cruise. Your ‘CMSA identifier’ is your CMSA membership number, which you will find on your CMSA statements, preceded by the letters CMSA. For example if your membership number is 12367 your CMSA identifier would be CMSA12367. Members should omit any zeros that begin their account number e.g. if their number is 023678 their identifier will be CMSA23678. This ‘CMSA-identifier’ will be needed on the registration page in order to claim the free month trial period as well as subsequent subscription fee in the field shown below on the registration page.
Please note that if your account number is displayed with a year, e.g. 12367/2003, you will only use 12367 and not include the year.
